Hello! I am Amanda – I am 27 years old, and I own a dance studio. I am also the dance team coach for my local high school and the theater director for a Pre-K through 8th-grade school outside of Boston. I have been able to use dance as my escape from difficult times and as a way to heal, express myself, and give back to my community.
Alongside my dance career, I currently use the AMT G-JET®. Initially, it was assumed that years of battling anorexia and bulimia were the cause of my gastroparesis, but I have since been diagnosed with a slew of other complications, and now my specialists are looking into autoimmune disorders.
I had been waiting for quite some time to try the AMT G-JET®. I have always needed jejunal access due to my gastroparesis; I have used Kimberly-Clark®, Cook Medical®, and Boston Scientific®* tubes in the past. Some were more successful than others, but finding the combination of low-profile and the jejunal portion staying in place was difficult to come across. With my active lifestyle, my tube being low-profile was very important. Unfortunately, many of the GJ-tubes I tried (both traditional length and low-profile) would regularly flip from my jejunum into my stomach.
I requested the G-JET® and had two obstacles to overcome to attain it; the first being the hospital where I received care and their willingness to use AMT products. The second was the availability of the tube in the size I needed. Finally, after a couple of years of waiting, the hospital agreed to try out AMT, and my size was made available on the market.
This tube has not flipped into my stomach like so many others before it. It is also discrete, comfortable, and I like the shape. The Glow Green™ feature is pretty cool too!

Thanks to the AMT G-JET®, I am now managing my gastroparesis better and can eat things I once could not.
