Leon’s MiniONE^® / Success Stories

Our son Leon had a difficult life as a baby after we transitioned him to solid foods. He developed an eating behavior problem that led him to fall to the 0.5-1st percentile on the growth chart. He went through many food therapy programs to learn how to eat; following the program, he was able to eat but still did not meet nutritional goals. At age four, we decided to place a MiniONE^® Balloon G-Tube.

Within the first month, he gained two and a half pounds with the help of his g-tube. Without his MiniONE^®, Leon would not have grown in height and weight, been at risk for health complications, and not reached his full growth potential.  Eventually, the feeding tube fulfilled his body’s needs and we were able to wean him off tube feeds as he gained weight through oral intake. Our family is very happy with our choice of the MiniONE^® device, as it allowed our son to meet his nutritional needs and eventually graduate from enteral nutrition support.
