Audrey has been using the AMT MiniACE® Enema Button for about 3 months! It has been a life-saver for us. Audrey has battled chronic constipation for years – pretty much her whole life. She would only have 1-2 bowel movements a month. We knew that something serious was going on.
Audrey underwent a lot of testing during the summer of 2021 and we were referred to a motility doctor. In November 2021, after more testing, we finally had answers! Audrey has colonic neuropathy, meaning her colon and brain don’t connect. There are no signals being sent to her brain from her colon to alert her that she has to go to the bathroom.
Surgery for Audrey’s cecostomy tube occurred in December 2021 and they placed a MiniACE® Enema Button. It has been working great so far! We hook it up to a gravity bag and irrigate with a mixture of saline and medication to flush her colon.
