– Jillian and Lydia’s Mom

Jillian and Lydia are sisters who have several things in common. They love to imagine grand stories with their character and toy dolls. Both girls enjoy being creative by making art, exploring nature and diving into books. They both also use the AMT G-JET® Button feeding tube to help them to get the nutrition they need.

Both girls have an unnamed disorder, that affects multiple body systems, primarily the gastrointestinal (GI) system. Their condition has to slow motility, GI pain and aspiration. Due to weight gain and vomiting issues, both girls had a nasogastric (NG) tube placed as babies. However, they both quickly moved to nasojejunal (NJ) tubes with bridles, as the gastric feeds did not work for them. After NJ feeds were proven to be helpful, they each had Gastic-Jejunal tubes placed for long term nutritional support, which eventually were changed to the G-JET® tubes as they grew.

The girls like the G-JET® because of how low profile it is and the stabilizing arm on the tube. Both kids are currently fed into their jejunal port 24 hours a day. When it comes to the gastric port, Lydia’s port is always open to drain, while Jillian only uses hers to drain overnight (she loves that she can close her gastric port when she is not using it). They are both fans of the Glow Green™ jejunal port, as they feel like it adds a little bit of fun to their feeding tube.
