I have had health issues my whole life including GI issues, autoinflammatory disease, dysautonomia, and more. I have whole GI dysmotility (which includes gastroparesis and intestinal dysmotility) which has led to me needing a feeding tube. I originally had a dangler tube, that was switched to a MIC* Dangler, and then changed to a Mic-Key® button g-tube; but I had many things I did not like about each one. That’s when I heard about the AMT G-JET® button and was determined to switch to it.
The IR department I usually went to did not carry or order this tube, so I started calling around to try to find places that did and eventually reached out to AMT for their help. Mason, an AMT rep in my area, helped me finally get the tube and it has made SUCH a difference!
The two separate flaps for each port is one of the best parts, and neither port leaks when opened which means no more rushing to attach the extension after opening the flap or rushing to close the flap after removing the extension. Both the Gastric and Jejunal ports feel much more open and flush easier with no clogging, the J portion of the tube has not flipped or moved at all, the G vents and drains much better.
The G-JET® is very stable with the 4-point stabilization which means it doesn’t drag downwards which really helps with avoiding granulation tissue formation. The shape of the balloon means less stoma leakage (some days I barely have any leakage!). The ports even use different extensions so you can’t accidentally use the wrong one, the extensions themselves are a lot better, and the Jejunal port glows in the dark which is both cool and helpful! Overall, the G-JET® is a lot more comfortable – I love this tube and am so happy I switched!
