John’s MiniONE®

“We are so thankful for medical technology that allows our son to receive nutrition and grow into the happy, healthy(er) boy that he is today.”

John’s Mom

I’m Victoria and I’m submitting this testimonial for my son, John.

John was born with a series of complex health issues, including feeding complications. He received a nasogastric (NG) tube at one or two days old. By 11 months old, he was still dependent on the feeding tube and had a severe oral aversion; however, he was also mobile enough to be pulling his tube out of his nose almost daily (sometimes multiple times a day). The frequent changes irritated his poor cheeks and were SO stressful to us, we never knew where we’d be when he’d rip out his tube!

Getting a MiniONE® Balloon Button G Tube was scary at first, but we quickly learned that it is easier to care for than an NG tube and such a lifestyle changer. We all quickly adapted to the button, as it allowed John to continue receiving the nutrition he needs while removing the stress of the daily tube changes. Also, no more people asking, “What’s he got on his face?” but instead appreciating him for the sweet, happy boy he is.

We are so thankful for medical technology that allows our son to receive nutrition and grow into the happy, healthy(er) boy that he is today. At two and a half years old, he still has a ways to go before he’s ready to eat by mouth, but thanks to his G-tube, he is able to grow, play with his sisters, and love life.
