What size is the needle?
The needle is 17 gauge and about 7 cm long. Needles are offered in either straight or curved configurations.
Is the needle echogenic?
Yes.
Can I bend the needle myself in the operating room?
Bending the needles manually is not recommended.
Are sutures included?
No, sutures are not included.
What size sutures are compatible with the device?
For best performance, braided sutures ranging from 5-0 to 0 should be used. However, no sutures are contraindicated for use with the RHAPSO™.
Can I pass monofilament sutures with RHAPSO™?
Yes, as long as the suture can still fold into the needle. Grasping monofilament may result in deformation of the suture at the location of the bend which should be removed from the patient.
Is RHAPSO™ sold sterile?
Yes.
Can RHAPSO™ be resterilized?
No, the RHAPSO™ should not be resterilized.
What is the minimum internal clearance needed to grasp a suture?
The minimum internal clearance is about 0.7 cm to fully open the graspers.
Can this device be used in child and adult populations?
Yes, this device is indicated for both children and adult populations.
How is this device packaged?
This device is presented on a backer card within a sterile pouch. It will be available in box multiples of one or five.

The RHAPSO™ is single patient use.
